Global leaders across the spectrum of cultural and political beliefs have acknowledged the key importance of education in building the future. Yet, financial concerns have limited access to education for underprivileged children worldwide. A number come from poor socioeconomic backgrounds in which they may rely on street lights to study. Others come home to an empty house and an unsupportive community. Despite these circumstances, many of these students have continued to fight the odds to perform well in school in hopes of achieving a better future.
That’s where Enlighten comes in. Our mission is to ensure that motivated yet underprivileged students around the world can achieve their educational goals. We will accomplish this by:
- Identifying the underprivileged school and college students in the USA and India
- Get an understanding of their goals by communicating with them
- Pay a portion or all of their educational costs
- Keep track of their goals and achievement
- Motivate them by providing non-financial resources that would help them achieve their goals
- Support/Partner with other organizations providing similar services as the mission of Enlighten and reach out to more students
